# Agricultural Technician and Animator (m/f)

 
Functional Area: Market garden

 
Reports to: General Management

  
**Mission**

 
To take part in the development and maintenance of the operating system implemented in the market garden and edible forest, in accordance with customer requirements and Areias do Seixo's strategy.

  
**Job description**

 
▪ Performing the daily tasks required to grow vegetables for the restaurants and customers (vegetable garden); 
▪ Developing and maintaining perennial areas (Food Forest);
▪ Communicating with customers and developing activities with them; 
▪ Managing green waste and local resources in order to produce good quality compost and mulch; 
▪ Carrying out and systematically monitoring the plantations throughout the established cycle, from the sowing process, planting, watering, fertilizing, harvesting, and moving the chickens; 
▪ Working with wood, reeds, or other materials on small constructions.

 
**Responsibilities**

 
▪ Organizing activities with customers;
▪ Harvesting vegetables and seeds;
▪ Looking after the seedbeds; 
▪ Planting; 
▪ Watering; 
▪ Pruning; 
▪ Making compost and natural fertilizer; 
▪ Grinding green waste; 
▪ Taking care of the chickens; 
▪ Keeping spaces clean and tidy.

 
**General requirements for admission**

 
▪ Willingness to learn and implement alternative agricultural methods (Regenerative, Agroforestry, Permaculture);
▪ Organization and autonomy; 
▪ Assertiveness and proactivity; 
▪ Good communication skills with the team and with the customers; 
▪ Flexibility and creativity; 
▪ Good knowledge of English; 
▪ Have some physical strength; 
▪ Regular personal practice of sustainability measures; 
▪ Availability to work weekends and public holidays.
