Active Experiences Regulation
General Conditions & Policies
Operation
a) Each guest may have access to two group sessions free of charge, per day, of the following experiences: Yoga, Yoga Kids, Stretching, Pilates, Pilates Kids, Functional Training, HIIT, Family Challenge, Kids Challenge, Trekking, Trek & Flow, Discovery Trek, Family Discovery Trek, Mussel Harvesting, Treasure Hunt, and Discovering the Vegetable Garden, as well as bikes and karts, according to General Conditions & Policies.
a) Taking part on an active experience mentioned above requires the reading and the acceptance of the General Conditions & Policies as well as a pre-reservation, and it is subject to availability (schedule, maximum number of participants per session and, also, a maximum of two lessons per day, per person). Areias do Seixo does not assure full and unlimited availability of the equipment and sessions to all the guests during their stay.
b) More than 2 group sessions per day, private sessions, group sessions of Surf, Surf Kids, Surf Family, Stand Up Paddle, and surfboard and wetsuit rentals, require the consultation of rates in force and its payment.
c) For non-guests, there are no free of charge access to any experience, i. e, all rates in force are applicable, as well as the General Conditions & Policies.
Bookings, Appointments and Cancellations
a) Active experiences – in group or private sessions - can be purchased according to the rates in force, excluding the free access group activities for guests.
b) Active experiences can happen between 7am and 8pm – in land (Yoga, Yoga Kids, Stretching, Pilates, Pilates Kids, Functional Training, HIIT, Family Challenge, Kids Challenge, Trekking, Trek & Flow, Discovery Trek, Family Discovery Trek, Treasure Hunt, Discovering the Vegetable Garden) follow a monthly calendar; on the ocean (Surf, Surf Kids, Surf Family, Stand Up Paddle, Mussel Harvesting) follow a weekly or a daily calendar (subject to changes).
c) The reservation of free access activities for guests is mandatory and is subject to availability, according to the schedule in force during the stay.
d) Under all circumstances, active experiences’ appointments, and cancellations, respect the following timings: until 6pm of the previous day.
e) It is not possible to do Functional Training or any other activity without professional supervision. The usage of equipment is subject to availability, according to the schedule in force during the stay. Guests cannot use them freely.
f) In case of paid experiences, if the client does not attend or cancels the sessions after the stipulated timing, Areias do Seixo has the right to charge the activity. In case of free access experiences, if a guest does not attend or cancels the sessions after the stipulated timing, Areias do Seixo has the right to deny the participation to a guest after one absence without justification.
g) Clients must attend sessions on time. Once it starts, clients cannot enter.
h) Areias do Seixo has the right to decide if weather conditions are suitable to start, finish, or interrupt experiences at any given moment, without refunding the corresponding value.
i) In the event of no-good conditions to start an outdoor experience, Areias do Seixo is obliged to cancel, hence, no fee will be applied.
j) Bookings for ocean experiences are limited to one session per day, per level.
k) A minimum number of participants is required for the following experiences:
· Surf Family // 3 people
· Kids Challenge // 2 people
· Family Discovery Trek // 2 people
· Mussel Harvesting // 4 people
· Treasure Hunt // 2 pax
l) If the minimum number of participants is not reached, Areias do Seixo has the right to cancel the session and the obligation to inform the enrolled guests as soon as possible.
m) Age policy: there is a minimum age to participate in specific activities. For children, it requires previous consultation and depend on the experience requirements.
n) Bookings on-sight must be done at the Hotel’s Reception or at the Villas’ Welcome Tower, according to the place where the guest is staying, open every day.
o) In case of unforeseen situations, Areias do Seixo has the right to cancel any appointment as well as the obligation of refunding the client.
Insurance
a) In case of experiences led by instructors, the material, insurance, and VAT are included.
b) Insurances against personal accidents and towards liability are guaranteed to each client participating in active experiences. These insurances cover clients injuries during its practice, as well as any other person involved and hurt during the sessions, if the client respects the terms of this document and the instructors’ guidelines.
c) For personal accidents insurance, clients must declare not to have any medical conditions that may thwart or generate injuries during the Experience.
d) If the client declares to suffer of any medical condition which may thwart or generate injuries during the experience, Areias do Seixo has the right to deny the client’s participation.
e) Insurances mentioned above will not cover any situation of injuries arising from physical inabilities which have not been declared by the client.
f) Areias do Seixo will guarantee that all the equipment provided is in good conditions. The client is responsible for the provided equipment and must return it in the same conditions as received. In case of damage or loss, the equipment value will be charged to the guest / client.
g) During each session, the client must comply with all our team’s instructions and should not disturb other members, nor interfere with the ability of the instructor to conduct the class safely and securely.
h) Areias do Seixo has the right to exclude the client that does not follow the terms and conditions, without refund.
i) Any client will have permission to participate in our active experiences under the influence of alcohol or any other addictive substances. In this case, Areias do Seixo has the right to exclude the client from the sessions, without reimbursement.
j) Areias do Seixo is by law excluded from any liability to the client and is not responsible for any loss, damage or injury caused within the practice of the activities during the stay at this property.
Specifications - Surf and Stand Up Paddle
a) The ocean activities require payment, according with the rates in force.
b) The client must recognize that inherent hazards may exist, both apparent and hidden, associated to the activity. The participation in the sessions may involve injuries. No reimburse will be given in case of accident or other injury during these activities beyond the ones already included on the insurances mentioned above.
c) Areias do Seixo has the exclusive right to decide if the beach, weather, and ocean (or other factors) conditions may be unsafe and has the right to end them at any time, without reimbursement.
d) If the client uses its own Surfing gear, it must be kept in the guest’s room or villa. There are no insurances for private equipment.
Equipment Rentals & Usage
a) Areias do Seixo owns bicycles and protections, and karts, which can be used by guests, subject to availability. However, Areias do Seixo does not assure availability for all guests.
b) The equipment mentioned above must be returned on time and in good conditions. Otherwise, Areias do Seixo will not lend more equipment for free.
c) Areias do Seixo also has surfboards and wetsuits to rent. However, it is reserved for advanced surfers only and the equipment is stored at Noah Surf House.
d) Equipment for rental does not include insurance. Upon rental, the client becomes responsible for it. In case of damage, loss, repair, or replacement, it will be charged to the client.
e) For every equipment rent/usage, the client must sign a term of responsibility and is obliged to pay for any personal accident or damages against others.
f) Clients must always use the equipment considering its purpose and are responsible for keeping its safety and conservation.
g) Clients must return the rented / lent equipment as soon as the rental / lend period expires.
h) If the client returns the equipment after the rental / lend expiration period, an extra fee will be charged.
i) If the client returns the equipment before the rental / lend expiration period, a reimbursement will not be given.
j) The non-return of rented / lent equipment will be notified and shall be subject to a criminal claim for theft against the practice of civil liability of the contract between the parties.
k) In case of theft, the client must immediately present a criminal claim and is responsible for the payment of the equipment value.
l) Areias do Seixo has the right to decline rentals / lends to any guest under the influence of alcohol or any other addictive substances.
m) Areias do Seixo has the right to decline the rental of Surf and SUP material to any guest with beginner or intermediate level, to ensure its own safety, such as the safety of passers-by, other surfers, and sunbathers.
n) The client is responsible for his/her own insurance to cover personal and third-party accidents that may occur during the use of the rented / lent equipment. Therefore, all the responsibility relies on the client.
o) For any other cases not covered by these rules, the current Portuguese law is applicable.

a) Bookings and participations require the reading and the acceptance of General Conditions & Policies throughout this document.
